I have been preparing for my upcoming exams for the last couple of weeks. Every time I get stressed out I break out. Fortunately I have found simple ways to control my breakouts. You can too. What you do first thing in the morning can have a major impact on the health of your skin. Not only for the rest of the day but also for the long term. You don’t have to live at the beauty spa to have gorgeous and enviable skin. Incorporate these simple skincare steps to your beauty routine for that effortless healthy complexion.
When dirt, oil, dead and dry skin clog your pores, you get a pimple. Get rid of dead and dry skin by gently exfoliating your skin regularly. Doing this will brighten up your complexion. By exfoliating, you get rid of the barrier between your skin and your favorite skincare products.
2. DRINK WATER
You’ve been asleep for eight hours, as you should. That is eight hours without water intake and exhaling moisture out of your body. The responsive thing to do is to drink up at least a liter first thing in the morning. Even better if it’s lemon infused water. The organs are crying out for it. Hydrated skin is gorgeous, youthful and supple. So drink up.
3. HEALTHY BREAKFAST
Breakfast is my favorite meal of the day. It can be the difference between having a productive day or a dull day. Oatmeal filled with fiber, berries with beautiful colors packed with antioxidants. Just thinking about it makes me want a second breakfast. Here is a recipe for you. You are truly what you eat. If you eat healthy each cell of your body will be healthy too. In turn, your skin will have that enviable glow. Choose wisely.
4. APPLY SUNSCREEN
Sun damage can lead to dull skin, premature aging and sun spots. It can also cause skin cancer. Protect your skin and wear sunscreen before you leave the house. Whether it’s raining outside or the sun is out, apply sunscreen. Built in SPF in skincare products are great, but you shouldn’t rely on them.
5. HAVE A SKINCARE ROUTINE
People with good looking skin have a morning and night skincare routine. Even Patrick Bateman had an endearing routine. Koreans have a 10 step skincare routine which they follow faithfully, morning and evening. You can tell it works because they all seem to have bright, youthful and supple skin. Both male and females. It’s wonderful and enviable. That level of dedication deserves an applause. For the rest of us we can at least try to follow the basic 3 steps; cleanse, tone and moisturize, while we get inspired to start the 10 step skincare.
I don’t have perfect skin but I am three steps closer to getting it. These simple 5 guidelines have been a great factor to the complexion of my skin. Try them out.
